Appeal following knife attack in Bedworth


Detectives are appealing for information after a teenage boy was stabbed in Bedworth.

At 12.51pm today (Friday 5 March), police got a call to say the boy had been attacked in Bedworth Town Centre. It is believed the attack occurred around 10 minutes earlier in Church Way at the junction with All Saint’s Square.

The boy was taken to hospital after suffering a stab wound to his face. His injuries are serious but not thought to be life-threatening at this time.

Armed officers were deployed to the area to help locate a suspect and a cordon remains in place around Church Way.

Detective Sergeant Suzanne Charlton from Warwickshire Police CID said: “This was an extremely serious attack that has left a young boy with serious injuries. It is important that anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help us locate the person responsible gets in contact with us urgently.

“At this time, we are treating it as an isolated incident.”

Officers are keen to speak to anyone with any information that can help including those with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area the time it happened.
