SNT activity - 04/05/24

A busy day-shift for PC Reading and PCSO Allen yesterday (04/05/2024):

  • Checking and responding to recent team emails and submitting relevant reports, including checking what had happened across our area overnight.
  • Assisting our D-shift Response colleagues with a welfare check on the Shipston SNT area following a reported fraud.
  • A quick bite to eat at the Wellesbourne Touchdown Cafe, before heading out on morning patrols.
  • Dealt with a driver for having no MOT when they were seen driving in Northend on our way to a separate routine incident.
  • Patrols of Burton Dassett Hills and a catch-up with our Police off-road biker team who were training at the location.
  • Dealt with an emergency concern for welfare incident in Kineton.
  • Community engagement at Caffeine & Machine.
  • Sent as back-up to an emergency violence incident reported in Gaydon.
  • Speed checks on Loxley Road, Wellesbourne, which is an area identified as a priority by Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership (approx 5.6% of vehicles checked were found to be speeding over the course of the 30 minutes we spent at the location).
  • Area search for some nuisance quad bikes on our way back into Stratford Police Station.
  • Sent to an emergency anti-social behaviour incident on Bridge Street, Stratford just before finishing our shift to deal with a male sitting outside one of the shops causing anti-social behaviour to passers-by.
  • Both anti-social behaviour and speeding were identified as two of our team priorities at our last quarterly meeting held between members of our team, Parish Councillors, District Councillors, and County Councillors. Our third priority was patrols of acquisitive crime hotspots (theft-related offences), which we will be focussing on during our evening shifts. These priorities do not detract us from our day-to-day activities but allows us to maintain a focus on particular areas of community concern when we are not dealing with other incidents/reports.
