Can’t beat a nice community day in Exhall. The sun was out, we were having some great chats with residents and - to round off a good day – we found a storage unit full of stolen motorbikes, complete with two rather shocked suspects. It just goes to show that you (literally) never quite know what’s around the corner when you’re out on foot in the community. Neighbourhood Sergeant Grassby and the Safe and Neighbourhood Team were less than a minute’s walk from the event when they came across two men who appeared to be in the process of unloading motorbikes from the back of a van and into a storage unit.
They were immediately detained for searches. Both were then arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles and handling stolen goods. Nine motorbikes and one quad bike – all suspected to be stolen – were seized and we’re now working on getting them back to their rightful owners. The men – both from Coventry – have been held in custody and remanded to court. As part of that, we raided another storage unit in the early hours of this morning and found one more suspected stolen bike.
