An update from Studley |
While completing 5km of foot patrol around Studley today as part of Operation Minwear, I was updated about one of my cases. You may recall my previous plea for witnesses to a Land Rover which was driven poorly through Mappleborough Green and Studley. Following my own investigation, the driver, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted all offences put to him in interview. He will be reimbursing a local company for theft of their fuel and is due in court at the end of this month for numerous driving offences including driving without insurance, driving without a licence and driving without due care and attention. It is fortunate that nobody was hurt in the incident. The expectation is that the driver will receive a ban from driving, keeping our roads that bit safer.
As part of the ongoing efforts to police the roads, next week Operation Drive Insured launches nationwide. As the name suggests, this will be targeting those driving motor vehicles on a road without insurance…
