Hello from the Alcester North SNT. Tonight is the time for trick or treating. (Preferably treating) Just a bit of advice so everyone has a good time. Be careful not to frighten people - particularly the elderly Only trick or treat at houses where you know the people who live there Never trick or treat alone. Go with an adult or a group of responsible friends Never enter a stranger's house or talk to strangers Don't knock on doors where there is a sign saying 'No trick or treat' While trick or treating, stay in areas that are well lit. Avoid dark, lonely places Anti-social behaviour, such as throwing eggs and flour at houses or cars may lead to a police officer visiting your parents and a criminal record Top tips for parents: • Make sure you know where your children are and what they are doing. • Children should always go trick and treating with an adult, or a group of responsible friends. They should tell an adult where they are going • Ensure that your children do not enter stranger's houses. Encourage them to only trick or treat people that they know • Keep an eye on your kitchen cupboards. If eggs or flour go missing ask why! General safety tips: • Display a 'No trick or treat' notice by your door if you do not wish to be disturbed • Do not open your door to ‘trick or treaters’ if you feel anxious or worried • Keep an eye out for vulnerable neighbours who may be concerned around this time • If there is a problem or incident outside your house call Warwickshire Police on 101.
Have fun and stay safe. |
